Tyler is 6 months!

The little guy has grown so much! He and I have been back to work for 2.5 months. He eats 2 meals/day which consists of cereal, veggies, meat and fruits. All mushy of course. He drinks water from a sippy cup and often holds it himself, with gusto I might add.

He rolls over and can sit up. He has one bottom tooth and I think the other will cut through soon. He LOVES it when his dad reads to him at bedtime while I hold him. Tyler is such a smiling good natured boy. People always ask if he is always so happy. Honestly, yes.

Hes not always the best sleeper and will resist naps like you wouldn't believe. Car rides help. He lives for the jolly jumper and his exersaucer. Great fun!

Back to work after 105 days

Little Tyler is growing so fast!  he is 3.5 months old:

  • already has a stamp in his passport
  • partied in Vegas
  • wears 6 month old clothing
  • has started to grip things and bring them to his mouth
  • LOVES his crinkly tail books.  still likes his bears though
  • has figured out the Jolly Jumper and LOVES that too
  • the hot tub is one of his fave ways to wind down
  • rolls around, babbling away
Tyler is at the flower shop in the afternoons with his Mom and Dad.  He is pretty well behaved.  Plays in his playpen or sleeps in the carrier on moms chest while she works.  Life is good for a little boy.

Sean is working at the Distillery as a distiller.  He comes home with all these technical terms and 98 degrees this and that which might as well be Tyler`s babble for all I understand of it. He`s enjoying it.  Hopefully Sean will be able to join Rachel and Tyler at the shop most days.

Rachel finally got out for a ride on Friday one cool evening with Krystal.  It was wonderful to be out and back on a horse again!  We take Tyler camping and he plays outside while Rachel picks raspberries and beans, but its nice to have some time away from babbling boys too.  Especially ones that still like to wake every hour in the night.

Our house and yard (and dogs) are taking a back seat and look like hell this year.  We try, but we can`t quite seem to keep up.  We`ll get there.  The little one gets more independent every day. (already! too bad not at night though).

Vegas

Vegas was hot, 40 degrees! He slept pretty well despite the noise and heat.

Grand Canyon

Such a good traveller!

Arizona

Got away at 5 a.m. Leaving the dogs in the care of grandpa. Tyler slept pretty well the night before 2. He slept so soundly on the first flight we couldn't even wake him feed him during the ascent.

We arrived in Phoenix without any hitches. Jump in ur rental vehicle and headed up to the desert to Sedona. How beautiful!

Grandma devers was right. The desert combined with those tall tower in Red Rock formations is just stunning.

6 weeks

Growing like a weed!

11 days in...

Our little man is doing so well. Health nurse thinks we're a 10/10 for how were all adjusting to our new roles as Family members. Ty eats like a little piglet, some days with barely enough time for a burping and diaper change before he wants to glut some more. However, he has slept pretty consistently at night for 3-5 hour intervals. Mom likes that. ;)

Its amazing how seans voice and presence soothe Ty. After being alone with me all day, he's so happy when dad gets home. Ty is holding his head up more and more. He rolled onto his side!? Is that possible?!

He's a very good little boy. There aren't many times when he is inconsolable. Normally when all else fails, another feeding with mom is what is required, but not on that side! Not from that angle! Eeee, oh that's better as he will finally stop Flailing and settle down. ;)

BORN!

Our little man sent me into early labour around 1pm May 13 after drinking pitchers of raspberry tea. Finally headed to the hospital around 8 pm, with a pit stop at burger king. ;)

By the time we were seen at 930pm, they wanted to send us home! Simpering nurse thought I should walk around Regina for a couple hours. Until near midnight, um NO. So we went for a fudgicle and walked the hospital halls with me bent over stamping me feet and grabbing the railings.

Finally at 1130 we returned and were instantly admitted to the last available room. (Other women weren't so lucky and laboured in the hallways and waiting rooms!)

Got the epidural around 1am, thank Gawd! Made it possible to doze between contractions. Water broke around 3am, things got intense at 7 am as Tyler was wanting to be OUT! also, his heart rate was up and down, which made the nurses prepare for an emergency c section. I threw up whenever I was on my back, what a mess.

My Dr arrived just in time to deliver, the back up doc was already on the scene. I was kind of out of it with pain and exhaustion. I left Sean to the niceties. The room filled with 11 staff as things weren't going very well. I tried lots of birthing positions but few were compatible with Tylers heart rate. Finally, I pushed him out on my back, Sean and a nurse holding my legs, Dr using the vacuum. Sean cried as he announced it was a perfect little boy at 857am May 14.;

I didn't get to see too much of him initially as he was having a serious check up and I was getting stitched up (only a few stitches caused by the vacuum)

Finally got him in my arms. What a little cutie pie! His poor scalp was bruised and he had a funny misshapen head for a day where the vacuum had grabbed the side of his head.

Didn't take long for grandparents to run in and cuddle him. And, he and I were given a clean bill of health around 3pm on May 15, and we were sent home.

40 weeks!

Its weird how you can go months seriously constipated, then, shift of gears and your body goes the other way.??  Having what might be contractions this am. Not really sure. Guess it feels kinda tight but not painful yet just uncomfortable. Feel nauseous, and my back is killing me. All signs. Yet.??  Time will tell. Mothers Day Week. We have  thousands of $ of flowers coming this week, mostly today. Oh baby. You have some timing. Oh. That's tight. Whew.

Due date passed, no baby. No sign of baby coming soon either...

Baby is technically full term

This little squirt is playing me out! Yawn. Its getting more difficult to put in decent time at work. I wake up so early sometimes I need a nap before coffee. Just saw the Dr who thinks the baby is dropping. The babies heartbeat is slower which apparently happens before birth. I'm waiting for this burst of energy I keep hearing about...

35 weeks...

Ok, I'm starting to get a little frustrated at this whole pregnancy thing.  The baby is amazing, but the physical part is more of a nightmare.  BOO HISS.  Being huge, cumbersome, breathless, uncomfortable, not sleeping, always peeing and totally exhausted ALL THE TIME really sucks.  That said, I'm not so sure that I am ready for a new baby to be here stealing all my waking moments either.  I guess its too late to go back isn't it?  The idea of a baby is wonderful  someone to cuddle and dress up...  Tho in reality this kid will keep me awake, pee/poop on us, has already wrecked my body, drive us to the edge of our...what?  See.  There goes my brain again.  You can't even get something down on your blog before the baby eats the thought right out of your head!

Sigh.  (baby wiggles on) Its like being taken over by an alien being, and you have no control and I, for one, feel very frustrated with my restrictions, yet I want to do IT ALL, RIGHT NOW.  This is when a nice glass of wine would really help a girl out.  But I guess I'll settle for chocolate milk.  Or I'll be really out there and have a berry milk!  Oooo.

Working on baby room!

Getting the storage moved downstairs, organizing and painting. Off to another Dr appointment.

baby bump at 7 months

We're 31 weeks pregnant. Baby is still very wiggly and craves chocolate. All the wonderful chocolate cupcakes and cakes for my birthday were a delicious treat for me and baby.  Sean took me, Mom and Dad out to the Diplomat for dinner. Great day with lots of well wishes.

3/4 there!

Met the Dr again yesterday. Our baby is super healthy, in the 65th percentile for size and 100% on leg length, thanks to Sean. Baby is still very active but mostly head down, constantly crushing my bladder with its sweet little noggin.  Then those grasshoppers legs get kicking like its swimming the english channel.

Got the babys room painted and took inventory of my supplies, lots of newborn stuff that might never be worn depending on how big this kid is, hopefully teeny tiny.

Making baby things

I've been sewing up a storm, getting some things ready for this squirmy little body. Check it out, gotta love pinterest!

28 week ultrasound

so baby is almost 3 pounds, puts us in the 65th percentile. The tech was surprised at how active our baby is. She had to chase it around to get proper measurements. Stinker had its hands covering most of its face, so we only saw a chin, nose and mouth.
Super busy day at the shop today. Thank god for Jordan and Ginny! Even crazier tomorrow even with the pending blizzard I'm sure, er, I hope.

Back at the grind

Baby is growing! New baby doctor seems great. She has scheduled us for another ultrasound on feb 13, of all days.  Went ice fishing, totally skunked, but the babes seemed to think it fun.

We are busy doing inventory, maintenance and new displays at the shop. It's tiring. Sean us helping me today and Debbie helped set up new displays the other day.

Fran was down assisting sean with basement wiring. While Debbie and I worked on clearing more junk out of the baby room and organizing the storage in there. Getting there.

Meanwhile little squirt keeps on kicking amd rolling around. My basketball sized uterus is actually 2 cm further along than the norm. I went and did the gestational diabetes test yesterday. Today I feel a little off, as if I have a cold coming on.

Poor Rachie

We had a wonderful meal last night. Early in the morning Rachie was not appreciating it quite as much. We learned that food poisoning while pregnant is ten times worse. She hasn't been able to keep anything down. I feel pretty helpless. I went and did some research on Baby Bump and am now just trying to keep her hydrated. Water, gatorade, vitamin water, and orange juice. She is feeling better but still struggling. We are laying in bed watching The Price Is Right and making fun of the contestants. She is laughing at my blog post so she must be feeling a little better.

Augh. Too bad I was so sick for our last full day. I blew a couple blood vessels on my eye. Yuck.

Our last morning I felt much better. My wonderful hubby took excellent care of me and our baby. We spent our last morning with Schmidts at the pool, soaking up the last rays.

Dad picked us up at the airport last night, first time not getting searched!

Thank you to Dad for looking after the dogs, fish, flower shop and our house while we were away. It was a huge relief to know he is here keeping an eye on things. (Like keeping Sara out of doggy jail)

Nice to be home.

Week 23 complete.

Definitely seans baby. As soon as this kid hears the noise of the buffet he starts kicking in anticipation.

Today we went out on the cool runnings tour. Started with a bus trip to ocho rios with ken on bus 430. Ken fancied himself a dj of sorts and entertained us with local insights and sexy jamaican music about booties and big bamboo. I liked the rum and redbull song too.

The cool.running catamaran was a big boat which they piled with people looking for a good time. The sun was unrelenting as horde upon horde of people came down the pier. We weren't underway for long before the heavens opened up and it poured! Everyone scurried inside, leaving sean and I alone with the deck to ourselves. It was warm rain, so why not?

We anchored near the reef and we jumped in and fought the current and crashing waves to enjoy the aqualife. The reef wasn't very healthy but we did see a nice variety of fish before it got way too crowded. Poor Sean was pushed onto the rocks a couple times.

Back on board and cruised to dunns river falls. It was a lot of fun. The fresh water felt so good. It poured rain the entire time we were climbing the falls, so much for the people who opted to stay dry. We slid down into deep pools, fell backward into pools, and climbed up as a big human chain. A couple from edmonton was on their Babymoon too. Due may 19. Funny.

The cruise back was a booze cruise. The catamaran crashed along the huge swells as rum soaked bikini clad folks danced and lurched on the dock.

Home with 5 minutes to spare for our spanish dinner reservations. Wow. It was amazing presentation, delicious food and superb service. Baby loves fine dining and the whole day in general.

Now, to sleep.

Dreams

Woke up in the night a couple times, all in a panic about the flower shop. What needs to be done when we get back, things I forgot to do before we left. Oh well.

Schmidt's arrived tuesday night. Rye was so content for hours yesterday playing bar tender. He poured cups of water back and forth while standing shin deep in the pool. He's gonna take over the tastings when he's older apparently.

Little babes is still super active and often interactive with us. We are 23 weeks along and my uterus is as big as a soccer ball! Baby is mango sized which makes no sense since last week she was as big as a spaghetti squash.??

Baby is the size of a spaghetti squash

Little monkey was making me feel nauseous this morning. We had some growlies and headed down the long stretch of Beach to the nude area again. Here baby B was playing knock knock with me. It would kick, and I would press the same.spot with my fingers, and he/she would kick back. This went on for a while. Sean could watch my tummy to see it move whenever the baby responded to my prods. That was cool.

We were sitting on the edge of ocean waves, naked. The sun was intensely shining down on us as we enjoyed the cool waves lapping over us. I felt something on my leg. I looked and there was a crab on leg - pinching me! Made me a little more paranoid since I was sitting in the sand bare assed.

It rains almost every morning and clears off by late morning. We are trying to figure out which tour we want to do, but we can't decide...

Nude Beach

Sorry, no pictures! It was quiet and secluded in the nude area. With the exception of a fee weirdos who wandered in with their drinks for a peep show. didn't even burn our white bits too much.

Discovered that Malt Drinks are really gross. They were non alcoholic, so I thought they might be a nice treat. No! Don't do it! Gag

I inquired about the cost of a fishing trip. I should change professions. $800 for a partial day of fishing. Wow. I think we'll talk to some of our local friends (barkeeps, grounds keepers) and see who they know who might have a boat. Yikes.

We went into ocho rios today. Saw some pretty nice looking horse flesh tethered to the roadside. Apparently they have horses big enough for sean to ride here.;)  Stocked up on sunscreen, fruit, gross malt drinks, and a few trinkets from the market shops. The locals are really warm and funny. Everyone tried to sell sean all kinds of drugs. We found scotiabank RBC and credit union banks here. Funny. The girl who was supposed to escort us around while we shopped (seriously! Weird huh) we gave her the afternoon off and we went by ourselves.  We joked around with her before returning to the resort and she gave us a onesie and a bib for the baby. Aw! She refused a tip too. Good people!

Supper was italian tonight. I was so tired i barely noticed. I'm pretty sure the food was good tho. Good night!

Gourmet Dinner

Oooh, the gourmet restaurant on the resort was a delight. We almost ruined our soup, as a largely empty bowl was
placed in front of us with a pinch of mashed potato with a garnish of bacon.  We were about to dig when the waiter returned and poured our wild mushroom cappaccino soup in around the spuds. Cool. Sean had some yummy salmon tar tare and I had crunchy shrimp. The presentation was awesome and the flavors devine. I even had flambe fruit for dessert.

Enjoyed some ambiance and drinks al fresco listening to reggae on the terrace. The breeze was cool and the parade of people provided good entertainment. Sean and kept making each other laugh with silly antics while baby kicked and enjoyed itself too.

Great day.

Finally arrived in Runaway Bay

After only a couple hours of sleep the flight seemed endless, tho it was an hour late.  At the Mo Bay airport I planned to take $400 out with an atm, and ended up taking out a mere $4. Oops. Jamaica is pretty and warm and our hotel is huge and fabulous. Left home at 415am, arrived at our hotel room around 630/7pm.

this is the view from our balcony. Its 30 degrees, cruise ships are sailing past and I had a lovely sleep last night. Ah. Spending 2 weeks in 1 room seems like a.long time. I was interested to discover how different tourists are vs travelers. All inclusive resorts draw tourists. Some were loud, arrogant, and obviously here to feel like lordly kings. Sean and I couldn't wait to get off the shuttle bus and far away from these people. Oh amd sean ran into people from yorkton already! They weren't jerks tho.

Baby was very active yesterday during the flight, bus ride, dinner. Running laps around the womb I swear.  Mmm love those ocean waves lapping at the shore.  Can't wait to explore today.
